! WARNING !

Before you mount our quick-release axle with adapter, you must determine whether your bike is approved for trailer use. Check the operating instructions for the bike, ask the manufacturer or ask a bike dealer.

The towing bike must be approved for towing a trailer. Riding the trailer with a towing bike that has not been approved by the manufacturer can lead to frame breakage or other material problems. This can result in accidents with life-threatening injuries.

If you are not sure how to fit our quick-release axle with adapter correctly, please contact a specialist workshop.

Our quick-release axle with adapter must be fitted correctly. An incorrectly fitted quick-release axle with adapter can come loose while riding and lead to accidents with life-threatening injuries.

Note that our quick-release axle must be screwed into the adapter with at least six full turns.

Less than six full turns of the thread will not ensure sufficient clamping force of the rear wheel, which can lead to accidents with life-threatening injuries.

You should definitely bear this in mind:

  • Our quick-release axles with adapter are only approved for bicycles and pedelecs (max. 25 km/h), not for S-pedelecs or e-bikes from 25 km/h!
  • We would like to point out to all dealers and end users that they themselves are responsible for the entire bicycle trailer system and its correct functioning in terms of product liability!
  • It is your responsibility to determine the correct clamping length [mm] on your rear wheel. If you are unsure about the correct clamping length, please contact us by email or phone and we will be happy to help you.
    • cannot be used with bikes made of carbon or with carbon dropouts and carbon rear triangle!
    • cannot be used with dropouts opened horizontally to the rear! (e.g. almost all Gazelle models)
      • Regularly check the correct torque setting and that all components are free of play before using your bike in trailer mode!
      • If you do not have a calibrated torque wrench for fitting our quick-release axle with adapter, contact a specialist workshop.

      FOR ASSEMBLY

IMPORTANT: Always mount the trailer on the left-hand side in the direction of travel!

Dismantle the quick-release axle as shown in the first picture.

Unscrew the adapter from the axle first.

Now you can push the axle (screw with hexagon socket) through your rear wheel hub, seen from the right-hand side in the direction of travel.

Then turn the adapter onto the axle from the left-hand side with 3 to 4 turns until it has seized.

Then push the adapter with the axle against your dropout (rear triangle). Make sure that the lug on the adapter sits exactly in the dropout and disappears.

Now use a 5 mm Allen key to tighten the axle against the adapter.

The tightening torque of max. 8-10Nm should not be exceeded.

Before attaching the Leggero drawbar, push the BECCO-drawbar over the adapter and use an ISK. wrench 3mmto tighten the cylinder screw M5 x 25mm with a tightening torque of max. 5 Nm tighten.
